Rough Rider Lacrosse, Inc. | Mission Statement

Established in 2005, Rough Rider Lacrosse is dedicated to promoting the game of Lacrosse to the youth, both boys and girls, in the Oyster Bay – East Norwich area. In addition to introducing the exciting, fast growing, ‘first’ American sport to our youth, Rough Rider Lacrosse is dedicated to promoting the ‘fastest game on two feet’ among the young adults and those young at heart.

Our Purpose & Goals Include:

  • To provide boys and girls a wholesome, fun leisure time activity and, as part of the experience, to promote qualities such as sportsmanship, team skills, positive work-ethic, and integrity.
  • To teach the fundamental skills necessary to play the sport, as well as teach strategies and teamwork necessary to master the sport.
  • To offer experiences that will last a lifetime.
  • To provide training and certification clinics during our Spring season to coaches. Our coaches are US Lacrosse Level I certified, AED & CPR trained and have completed the Positive Coaching Alliance Seminar.
  • To teach parents about lacrosse, and the importance of being positive, supportive spectators.
  • To provide year round lacrosse opportunities.
  • To promote advancement of Lacrosse as a team sport in 7th/8th grade, Junior Varsity and Varsity levels in the Oyster Bay High School.
